About Govind Dev ji Temple

 Shri Govind Dev ( Lord Krishna) Ji temple does not need any introduction. It is one of the most prevalent and sacred places. According to sources, on one side, City Place, which Sawai Jai Singh II brought to fame, on the other hand, around 1700 AD, the then Mughal emperor Aurangzeb was wreaking havoc all over Jaipur, then one day Raja Sawai Jai Singh's dreams Lord Krishna came and said that to avoid this destruction, you will have to install his idol at the main gate of Jaipur. Then Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh brought the idol from Vrindavan which was first kept in Surya Mahal and later transferred to Chandra Mahal. It is believed that this idol is the image of Lord Krishna during his incarnation on earth.
According to sources, this idol was built by Vajranabh, grandson of Lord Krishna, from his imagination 5000 years ago.

October to February is the best time to visit here because the temperature in the daytime is 20 to 30 degrees Celsius and the nights are extremely cold. At such a time, one can spend memorable time in the city that boasts the beauty of this heritage.
