This structure was built in 1799 by Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, grandson of Sawai Jai Singh, who was the founder of jaipur. Its five-story building, which is only one and a half feet wide from the top, looks like a beehive from outside, which has 953 very beautiful and attractive small forged sculptures called Jharokha. Constructed of lime, red and pink sandstone, this palace is situated on the main road in the heart of the commercial center of Jaipur. It is a part of the City Palace itself and extends to the Zenana Room or the Women's Room. Watching it glow in the golden light of the sun in the morning gives a unique feeling. The palace was repaired in 2006 after 50 years, at which time the value of this monument was said to be around Rs 4480 million. The corporate sector there took the responsibility of protecting this monument but later the Unit Trust of India took up this responsibility.
